Addressing Stonehouse Concerns: Dog Mess to Green Space
If you spend time in Stonehouse, you’ll hear the same things pop up in conversations: too much dog mess, not enough bins, neglected green spaces, and a sense that some parts of the neighbourhood get overlooked.
We’ve been holding space for people to voice these everyday frustrations—not to just vent, but to think together about what change might look like.
As one resident said: “It’s not just about the dog poo, it’s about what it represents—are we taking care of where we live?”
The small stuff matters. It tells a bigger story about how welcome people feel in their neighbourhood, and whether they believe change is possible.
Through our conversations and assemblies, we’ve seen local pride meet local frustration. That tension is powerful—it’s a sign people care deeply.
And it’s where community-led action can start. Not with grand plans, but with picking up the overlooked stuff and asking, “What do we want this place to be?”
That’s how we begin.
