New Ways to Support Freelancers

Jelly South West began as a simple idea: create free coworking spaces where freelancers and home-based workers could connect.

But it’s grown into something deeper—a community of mutual support that tackles loneliness one coffee and chat at a time.

In the March 2023 Jelly SW newsletter, Louise from Tiny Designs put it beautifully: “We have enough barriers to cope with already. Small businesses owe it to each other to help.”

Through Jelly events, we’ve seen new collaborations, friendships, and a sense that you don’t have to go it alone. Matt Bell shared the newsletter with pride: “I never see competition in others, but how we can help each other.”

Jelly reminds us that belonging isn’t always about grand projects. Sometimes, it’s about showing up, side by side, with your laptop and a willingness to say hello.

And in a world where working alone is increasingly common, creating places to feel together matters more than ever.
