Ripple Effect: Reconnecting Generations in Plymouth

We’ve been thinking a lot about who we spend time with—and who we don’t.

So we launched Ripple Effect, an intergenerational project bringing people together across age groups in the heart of Plymouth. From the start, our aim was simple: to build social clubs that spark joy, connection, and the kind of learning that only happens between generations.

“For many of us, our social circles look a lot like us,” one participant shared. “We miss out on what different ages can teach us.”

We’ve been piloting small, local gatherings—over crafts, food, stories—that let people show up as they are. No one’s being ‘helped’. Everyone’s contributing.

The early feedback has been powerful: people are finding new confidence, shared interests, and a sense of purpose. And we’re learning that intergenerational spaces don’t just reduce isolation—they ignite community energy.

Ripple Effect is growing, quietly but steadily. And we’re excited to keep experimenting with what happens when you bring generations into the same room—with no agenda but connection.
