Starting conditions - fixed pay rates

We implemented a straightforward compensation system with standard rates: £40 per hour for delivering work and £20 per hour for attending meetings. While this dual-rate structure created clarity in principle, it introduced complications in practice. The line between "work" and "meetings" was often blurred, as substantial work frequently happened during collaborative sessions.
Despite this complication, the fixed rate system provided transparency and predictability. People knew exactly what to expect for their time and could be confident they would be compensated for every hour they contributed to the work.
